Who we are

Carlijn Popelier is a labour lawyer and the founder of Labour Lens, a consultancy that specialises in freelance research on labour market trends, social policy, the future of work, and the demands, as well as treatment, of workers. Labour Lens builds on Carlijn’s multidisciplinary background in communications, humanities, and labour law, combining her legal expertise with a critical view of the global employment landscape. She has worked with the European Commission on employment and social policy issues, at Tilburg Law School and conducted legal research for the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre, focusing on the intersection of business practices and workers' rights.

Passionate about supporting workers in an ever-changing world, Carlijn also offers one-on-one consulting for NextGen workers. Her approach focuses on decision-making, helping individuals overcome their fears of change and encouraging them to embrace careers that align with their values and passions. Drawing on her own diverse experience across various industries, Carlijn shows that career success can take many different forms and offers guidance on creating fulfilling careers in a rapidly evolving job market.
